TWO schoolgirls were taken to hospital after they were struck by a car while crossing the road in Rutherglen.
Cops are investigating the road crash which happened at 4.40pm on Sunday on Glasgow Road.
The force said two six-year-old girl's were struck by a Skoda Fabia.
They were taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
Neither child's injuries were serious but they were kept in hospital for observation.
One of the children received treatment for a non-life threatening head injury and the other for minor injuries to her body.
The 52-year-old female driver of the car was no injured.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said enquires were ongoing.
