CARE workers in Glasgow are expected to wear their uniform at the funeral of one of their own who died while on her way to work.

Cordia worker Elaine McNeill's funeral will take place on Friday afternoon at Lambhill Crematorium.

We previously reported how Elaine died suddenly while working for Cordia in North Glasgow during the recent Beast from the East storm.

Tragic Elaine was found in the snow on Kippen Street after she had taken ill.

It is understood that her manager did a search on her phone after she had not heard from her and the alarm was raised.

Police Scotland previously said they were treating the death as unexplained.

Now her colleagues are planning to wear their Cordia uniform at her funeral as a sign of respect.

It comes after they started a fundraising drive to collect money for the funeral and Elaine's family.

Well-wisher donating to the fundraiser have given more than £5,700.
