THE iconic, listed building on Sauchiehall Street which holds the O2 ABC and Campus has been put up for sale.

City Cutz Barbers and the Wok Way restaurant also trade out of the unit, numbered 304 to 332.

An online advertisement describes the potential buy as a “prime multi let leisure and retail investment.”

Commercial property advisers added: “The adjacent building is set to be redeveloped into modern student accommodation. A planning application has been submitted and will be subject to planning consent.”

To rent out the entire unit would cost £454,526 a year.

Offers for the unit are in excess of £4.95 million.

The lease term left between all four businesses is at an average of 19 years.

Sauchiehall Street is arguably one of Glasgow’s top retail and leisure hotspots, catering mainly to the needs of students and young professionals.

O2 ABC is the focus of all entertainment activity at the western end of the street with the venue serving as a hugely-popular entertainment venue that draws artists from across the world every month.

The property listing comes amid a time of change for Sauchiehall Street.

Work started in February on its transformation as part of a £115 million investment by Glasgow City Council.

Council bosses say the aim is to make the City Centre more attractive, people-friendly and economically competitive.

Improvements to the non-pedestrianised stretch of Sauchiehall Street between Charing Cross and Rose Street will take around 18 months to complete.

They will transform the traffic dominated street to an area with trees, seats and cycling facilities.
