MUSIC legend Lulu will play her only confirmed UK gig this year in her hometown of Glasgow.

The singer, who is originally from the city's Dennistoun, will play the Kelvingrove Bandstand on Saturday, June 23.

The gig comes as the pint-sized pop star celebrates the 50th anniversary of her TV show Lulu’s Back in Town.

The Scot is recently took on the leading role as the glamorous Dorothy Brock in London West End musical spectacular 42nd Street.

Signed to Decca Records at the age of 15, Lulu is well known in the UK for her lively version of the 1964 Isley Brothers cover Shout, which was performed at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Lulu was one of the youngest stars at the age of 19 to have her own TV show, Lulu’s Back in Town which aired on May 21, 1968.

An international household name thanks to the song To Sir With Love (which was a US number one) from the film of the same name, Lulu also sang the title song to the Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun and won the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest with Boom Bang-a-Bang. Lulu collaborated with Take That in 1993 for a cover of Dan Hartman’s Relight My Fire.

She also recently appeared on BBC TV’s Who Do You Think You Are? and celebrated her 50th year as a recording artist with a return to Decca Records for Making Life Rhyme released in 2015.

The show starts at 7pm and tickets cost £37.50.
