US lingerie brand Victoria's Secret have confirmed their Glasgow store will open in autumn.

Their announcement comes after Glasgow City Council gave the world's sexiest lingerie brand the green light to take over a unit in the Buchanan Galleries.

The store will open at 220 Buchanan Street in a unit which was previously occupied by H&M.

Glasgow Times:

Victoria Secret said the store will feature a full assortment of the iconic Victoria’s Secret lingerie collections, including Body by Victoria, Very Sexy, Dream Angels, Bombshell, Cotton lingerie, as well as the brand’s athletic line Victoria Sport.

Glasgow Times:

Alongside the brand’s best-selling lingerie will be Victoria’s Secret signature scents, body care collections and Victoria’s Secret PINK, a collection of bras, panties, loungewear and beauty inspired by and targeting university-aged women.

We revealed earlier this week that the firm had began hiring staff.

Positions have appeared on the popular social media recruitment site Linkedin.

Glasgow Times:

Victoria's Secret are hunting for a variety of people to fill merchandising and management roles.

The job description states: "We are thrilled to be starting the search for our next store opening in the city of Glasgow! We are now looking for managers of all levels to join and inspire our team."

The new-store plans were initially submitted last July to Glasgow City Council with Victoria Secret asking for permission to make alterations to the front of the shop and to display illuminated and non-illuminated signage.

Those plans were approved last month subject to conditions and now work has started to bring a global brand to Buchanan Street.

Victoria's Secret was founded by Roy Raymond, and his wife Gaye, in San Francisco, California, on June 12, 1977, and since then the brand has become a global phenomenon.

Their appeal has grown thanks to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show which showcases some of the world's best known models who earn the honour of becoming a brand angel.

Famous faces including Tyra Banks, Kendall Jenner, above, Gisele Bundchen and Miranda Kerr have all walked in the shows, and some of the models have even appeared at store openings.
