ScotRail is adding extra carriages to trains to help fans travel to the Scottish Cup Final.

Celtic meet Motherwell in the William Hill Scottish Cup Final on Saturday, May 19, for a 3pm kick off.

The rail firm will be adding extra carriages to trains between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida – the closest station to Hampden Park.

To help ensure customers arrive at the match on time, ScotRail has advised match goers to allow extra time for travel and tickets in advance.

ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to assist customers and alcohol bans will be in place.

ScotRail Alliance Head of Customer Experience Graham Heald said: “We’re really looking to helping football fans head to Hampden to cheer on their team and see who lifts the final piece of silverware this season.

“We’re adding extra carriages to services to help customers get to the game, however, trains are expected to be very busy.

“Make sure to check your train times on our website or app and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.”
