RETURNING to Glasgow's SEC, the Ideal Home Show Scotland has revealed a line-up of celebrities and top chefs set to wow visitors.

Famous faces taking to the Ideal Super Theatre stage between May 31 and June 3 to talk all things homes, interiors and gardens include Phil Spencer, David Domoney, Amanda Lamb, John Amabile and Kunle Barker.

Show-goers will also be able to watch first-hand as some of the most celebrated chefs bring their unique style to life on the Eat & Drink Stage, with top names including Tony Singh, Jimmy Lee and Mark Heirs, plus Zoltan Szabo from the Blythswood Square Hotel and Gaucho’s master griller Fernando Larroude, as well as UK favourite Rosemary Shrager.

With the help of sponsor, Love Food Hate Waste the Eat & Drink Stage will help people make the most of the food they love and cut back on waste – helping both wallets and the planet.

Every year in Scotland, over 600,000 tonnes – or £1 billion worth – of food is thrown away from homes. That’s £460 a year for the average household, most of which is good food that people simply don’t get around to eating.

Around the stage there will be top tips on how to put all of Love Food Hate Waste’s advice into practice in everyday kitchens.

Ylva Haglund, food waste campaigns manager at Zero Waste Scotland, said: “There will be lots of food-saving and waste-fighting hints and tips throughout the show. Research shows that the foods we waste the most include fresh fruit, vegetables and salads, with meat and fish accounting for £190 million of our waste.

“By rethinking how you shop, planning meals better and using up leftovers, you can make a big difference to the environment as well as your bank balance. With one of Scotland’s favourite chefs Tony Singh on board to help spread the word, we’re hoping that visitors to this year’s Eat & Drink Festival will take a moment to stop and think about how much food they throw away."

From interiors, home renovation, DIY, gardens, technology and lifestyle, the award-winning Ideal Home Show Scotland has something for everyone, rounded off with the Eat & Drink Festival – a foodie nirvana within the show.

Ideal for all foodies, the Eat & Drink Festival is set to tempt the taste buds and showcase some of Scotland’s best food and drink that can’t be found in a supermarket. Tickets to Ideal Home Show Scotland will also grant you free access to Eat & Drink Festival.
