A TOP detective has ruled out the possibility that a missing woman who vanished six months ago has gone abroad as her teenage daughter made an emotional appeal for her to come home.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Sommerville said officers have checked Patricia Henry’s passport to ensure she she has not left the country as he appealed for information on the six month anniversary of her disappearance.

The 46-year-old mum-of-one was last seen on November 17, last year and was reported missing on March 14. Yesterday, her daughter Alannah McGrory, 18, above, fought back the tears as she appealed for information.

She said: “I hope that by coming here today someone will come forward with even the smallest piece of information that can help the police find my mum.

“My mum is known as Patti to most people and I am worried about her, she has never been so long without getting in touch.

“If you have any idea where my mum could be or if you have seen her since she was last reported missing, please let the police know.”

One strand of the investigation for officers looking for the missing woman is the possibility that she had travelled to Spain where she had live before. But that was ruled out after a check on her passport.

Glasgow Times:

DCI Sommerville, above, said: “Patricia has been reported missing in the past. A number of years ago, she actually went abroad on holiday and didn’t come back. She stayed abroad for a considerable period of time.

“She did, however, regain contact with her family so she has never been outwith contact with her family for this period of time.”

Patricia, who police said has struggled with alcohol issues, lived in Paisley before relocating to Girvan in October last year. The force said that they have carried out extensive enquiries in Girvan where only a limited number of people knew her.

Forensic officers are also carrying out investigations at her Paisley home in Burnfoot Crescent, Glenburn and the force has not ruled out the possibility that something sinister has happened to the missing woman.

DCI Sommerville said: “It is very much a missing persons enquiry, however, the police need to keep all possibilities open in our mind which means we will never exclude criminality.

“We will consider the potential that something has happened but at this moment in time we are looking to find out where Patricia may be.”

Patricia is described as being white, 5ft 10 inches in height, of slim build and has collar-length brown hair.

She has a tattoo of two clouds, outlined in blue, with a red rose and green stem with the word ‘Patti’ on her left arm.
