A GOVERNMENT body whose goal is to improve safety on the UK’s railways is investigating the death of a worker at Bearsden Train Station.

The Office of Rail and Road confirmed that they have started investigating the incident at the train station in the outskirts of the city which happened last Tuesday.

We reported that a 20-year-old man died after he fell from a ladder at the train station in the plush suburb.

His colleagues attempted to perform CPR while waiting on emergency services. But he died at the scene despite attempts to save him.

The young man was an employee of Linbrooke Total Network Solutions who was carrying out work at the station on behalf on Network Rail.

A spokesman for the Office of Rail and Road said: “We would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim of this tragic incident.We have opened an investigation and have already started gathering information.”
