A HEARTBREAKING note from a homeless young person has been spotted on a Glasgow pavement.
The cry for help is written in glitter pen on Gordon Street, in the City Centre, and claims to be from a care-leaver in need of support.
It reads: "Stevie, homeless as just left care due to funding cuts.
"I am starving and slept rough for a month and I can't do it anymore."
Twitter user Joanne Macfarlane spotted the painted note, which has a purple flower drawn at the end.
She added on social media: "It highlights the severe lack of intervention and support for our care leavers in Scotland.
"So often young people leave care without any follow-up, and so, are left vulnerable to homelessness and precarious circumstances.
"There was no one else around when I spied this note.
"I desperately hope Stevie found somewhere safe and is getting the support he (and like so many others) needs."
The Simon Community runs a helpline to which people can report rough sleepers.
The charity's street team will then visit the person to offer any help and support they might need.

Concerns have also grown about the visible increase in homelessness in the city centre streets.
Simon Community Scotland works under the council's Homelessness Service to help get people the services they need.
The 24-hour free helpline number is 0800 027 7466.
A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “We’d urge anyone who finds themselves homeless to engage with our street team or contact our partners at Glasgow City Mission and the Simon Community.
"The details you forwarded have been passed to our street team who tour the city centre speaking with homeless people and encouraging them to make use of services providing food, shelter, health and benefits advice.”
