A MAN has died following a road crash in Airdrie this morning.
Around 1.15am, motorcyclist Ian Sprinks was travelling westbound on Longriggend Road, near Airdrie, when it appears his motorcycle lost control.
Enquiries carried out so far have revealed the 39-year-old may have either hit, or swerved to avoid, a fence post on the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Emergency services attended and Mr Sprinks was taken to Monklands District General where he was pronounced dead.
The road was closed for several hours as crash scene investigators conducted enquiries at the scene.
Road Policing Officers are appealing for anyone who was travelling on that road last night or anyone with any information to contact them at Motherwell Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0031 of Wednesday 13 June 2018.
