KELVINGROVE Park was injected with a burst of colour as the annual Mela got under way.
Miss Pooja, one of the biggest selling female bhangra artists in the world, performed at the festival joined by performers from Lahore, Barcelona, London and Scotland.
Also performing was vocalist Akbar Ali and the results of a Gaelic-Indian collaboration, funded by Creative Scotland and featuring violinists Alan Henderson and Sunita Bhuyan, singers Kathleen MacInnes and Minakshi Majumdar, and young people from both backgrounds, was premiered.
Throughout the day festival-goers enjoyed a host of acts, including Black Star Steel Band, Mela veterans G Town Desi, and the ever-popular Raj Brass Band.
