A MAN who threatened a prosecutor after being remanded to custody has had another eight months added on to his sentence.

Sean Gilhoolie, 22, yelled “John Bedford is getting it” when told his bail wouldn’t be continued at the end of his trial.

He also shouted to the alarmed procurator fiscal depute that he knew where he lived.

Sheriff Norman Ritchie revoked the bail order after Gilhoolie was convicted of recklessly discharging a shotgun in Drumchapel, in October 2016.

Gilhoolie, from Drumchapel, pled guilty at the city’s sheriff court yesterday to shouting and breaching the peace in the court he was being prosecuted in, on December 19, last year.

Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull added eight months on to Gilhoolie’s five year sentence.

He said: “This court does not tolerate behaviour of the type to which you have pled guilty to.

“Those who work in court, prosecutors, court staff, G4S and police officers are entitled to do their job without being subjected to that behaviour.”

Defence counsel Sean Templeton said Gilhoolie is a new dad and was upset on the day he was remanded as he was leaving his pregnant girlfriend.

He said he was “somewhat distressed and emotional on the day this occurred”.

Mr Templeton said his client is sorry and “simply made an outburst” and added that there was “no substance behind the words.”
