GLASGOW actress Allison McKenzie will launch a new 40-degree Pilates class in the city's south side.

She’s helping friends Louis and Linda Stewart launch one of the first Inferno Hot Pilates classes in Scotland on Sunday.

Allison, 38, stars as a senior newspaper editor in Press, a new BBC drama from the makers of Doctor Foster due out later this year, featuring David Suchet, Ben Chaplin and Tom Hardy's wife Charlotte Riley.

But with filming finished, Allison is keeping up her love of yoga and keeping fit by trying Inferno Hot Pilates which has just hit Britain after being developed in Las Vegas.

She’ll be helping inspire the first class at Bikram Southside studio in City Wall House Eastwood Avenue, Shawlands, at 12.30pm.

Allison said: “I first fell in love with yoga in India and love the hot yoga classes at the studio and I can’t wait to try this. It's sure to be one of the most fun workouts I've ever had!”

Louis added: “These classes are very intense and challenging in 40-degree heat. It’s a full body, low impact, high intensity workout, using the principles of Pilates.

“It’s really different, strengthens muscles, burns fat and works for any level of fitness. And with Allison’s support we are hoping every keep-fit fan round Glasgow will want to give it a go.”
