RANGERS' Europa League opponents FK Shkupi have insisted their preparations for facing Steven Gerrard's side aren't in disarray despite a hefty defeat in their latest friendly.

The Ibrox side's new manager will face the Macedonian outfit in his first competitive match in charge next week in Glasgow.

While Rangers have prepared for the new season in Spain, Shkupi have travelled to Turkey and faced a series of warm-up matches ahead of the season beginning.

However, they were destroyed 3-0 in their last game by modest Bosnian outfit Celik Zenicam who finished a dismal 11th in their league.

But manager Zekirija Ramadani insists he is happy at his side's preparations.

He said: "We deliberately played two matches in two days.

"The second game was to test fitness ahead of the Europa League game with Rangers.

"It was never about the result, it was about raising fitness levels of certain players.

"We have had a good training camp and are satisfied out preparations for playing in Glasgow are on schedule."

Rangers' potential Europa League rivals, meanwhile, handed out a warning to Gerrard as they beat ring-rusty St Johnstone 3-0 in Austria.

Croatian outfit NK Osijek could lie in wait for the new Ibrox boss in the second qualifying round if Gers see off Macedonians FK Shkupi.

Osijek secured a fourth place finish and last year bounced out Swiss rivals Luzern and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven before being edged out on away goals by Austria Wien.
