Barrhead Travel has announced a continued partnership with a charity which brings safe water, sanitation and hygiene projects to communities around the globe.
After raising over £9,000 in 2007 to help Just a Drop provide Songeni Primary School, in Kenya, with a year-round fresh water tank, the company has confirmed details of their fundraising project for 2018.
This year, Barrhead Travel is aiming to raise £26,000 for the Buwambo project, in Uganda.
Sharon Munro, the firm’s CEO, said: “Giving back to charities and our local communities is a huge part of life at Barrhead Travel.
“We work with many local and nationwide charities, as well as charities making an impact across the world, like Just a Drop.
“We have tripled our fundraising target for Just a Drop this year and our teams across the business have started planning a huge variety of fundraising activities.
“To kick-start our new target, we pledge to match all customer donations for the month of July and would like to encourage clients booking their holiday with us to consider making a donation of 50p.”
The Buwambo project offers services such as immunisation and maternity care.
Water, hygiene and effective sanitisation are crucial to deliver such services.
