THE ritual of afternoon tea is set to become even more magical at a luxury Glasgow hotel.

The Blythswood is celebrating the world’s most famous wizard’s 37th birthday, on July 31, with a limited edition afternoon tea and cocktail menu served in The Salon.

Executive head chef Zoltan Szabo has created a spell-binding menu of red velvet sponge and cherry chocolate sorcerer’s hat, milk chocolate mousse with chocolate frog, honey-comb sponge and alchemists’ bon bon and bewitched bubblegum flavoured macaron.

For those who would like to raise a glass to Harry’s birthday, there is a gin based Love Potion, mixed with lemon, raspberry, crème de framboise and egg white soda, while Tropical Tincture is a potent rum cocktail with spiced apple, brown sugar and butter.

Little wizards can indulge in their own afternoon tea complete with Blythswood Butterbeer and delicate sandwiches.

The hotel's Cinema Club will also be hosting a series of magical films, to be announced soon.

The Enchanted Afternoon Tea package is available from Tuesday, July 31 until Sunday, August 12 and is priced £29 per person and £12.95 for children under 12.
