CELTIC were among the 30 best-performing clubs at the World Cup in Russia, according to a statistical study.

A report compiled by Chuck No Risk revealed that the Scottish champions' four representatives together recorded the 28th-highest points total of all clubs with players participating at the summer showpiece. 

A quartet of Hoops stars - Dedyrck Boyata of Belgium, Sweden's Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa of Costa Rica and Australia's Tom Rogic - were in Russia with their countries.

And collectively they racked up 20 points in 13 appearances, placing Celtic at number 28 in a list of 215 represented clubs and ahead of illustrious names like Arsenal, AC Milan and Ajax. 

Glasgow Times:

The Premier League was the most successful domestic league, with Tottenham Hotspur's stars accumulating the most overall points ahead of Barcelona and Manchester City. 

Spurs players also led the way with the most goals scored, joint with PSG on 12, while they boasted the joint-highest appearances at 61, level with Manchester City. 

The English top-flight was the best performing league by player with a total of 612 points, significantly higher than Spain's La Liga in second with 433.

Aberdeen were the only other team from Scotland to feature on the list, but Kari Arnason picked up just one point in two appearances for Iceland to put the Dons in 206th place on the final list.
