A 43-YEAR-OLD man has been taken to hospital after a police incident saw the Clyde Tunnel be closed late on Friday night.

The A739 tunnel was shut in both directions at around 8pm.

It opened northbound only from around 9pm when all vehicles were diverted westbound on Dumbarton Road.

Dumbarton Road was closed in both directions between Haylynn Street and Sawmill Roundabout.

The tunnel opened again in both directions at 10pm. However, Dumbarton Road remained closed but was expected to open before 11pm.

The Evening Times understands the Scottish Ambulance Service, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland were all in attendance.
