A TEENAGER who was found hiding behind a wall and foaming at the mouth threatened to assault police officers.

Andrew Hogan, 18, menaced: "I'll f*****g have yous."

It was around 5.45am when police were called to a McDonald's in Castlemilk over reports of a male causing a disturbance. When the officers arrived, they were pointed in the direction where the offender took off.

Hogan was eventually traced hiding behind a wall. Police noted that he was under the influence of a substance as he was foaming at the mouth.

The accused refused to show his hands and "smirked" as he reached for his waistband. Police, believing the teen to have a weapon, acted quickly to place him under arrest.

During the incident, Hogan shouted, swore and refused to desist. He also threatened to spit on the officers.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Hogan pleaded guilty to acting in an aggressive manner in Dougrie Road and at Cathcart police station on July 7, 2018. He admitted shouting, swearing, uttering threats and threatening to spit on officers.

Defending, Clare Ryan explained that her client had faced a number of difficulties over the past few years.

Hogan, who was said to struggle regulating his emotions, had been in foster care and was moved from five different placements.

Ms Ryan reported that the accused was now receiving support from Blue Triangle – which accommodates and assists vulnerable people to achieve better lives. He is also set to start a college course in hospitality this autumn.

Sheriff Linda Ruxton deferred sentence for a Venture Trust assessment.

Hogan, of Edinburgh Road, will return to court on September 11.
