I was sitting at Celtic Park watching the game on Sunday, and as soon as Tom Rogic challenged Ryan Jack in what ended up leading to Celtic’s goal, I said to the person next to me that it was a foul.

In the moment, I thought it was a stonewall free-kick, and now having watched it back again, I haven’t changed my mind.

That’s not through having blue-tinted glasses on, I just think that is clearly a foul and the referee has got it badly wrong.

However, whether it is a foul or not, you can’t ignore the fact that Rangers were caught cold on the counter attack.

The ironic thing is that by managing to get out a little more in the second half and by getting a bit of joy in attacking areas, their more advanced positions mean that they get caught on the counter and didn’t get back in quick enough.

There are a lot of lessons being learned by this Rangers team at the moment, and I think that was another harsh one for them. They may have got a little bit excited because they looked to slowly be pinning Celtic in at that point in the game, and it has come back to bite them.

So, Rangers have to take heed of those lessons, even if Willie Collum should have killed the counter-attack by making the correct call.
