CELTIC mad Martin Compston has posed for a selfie with club legend Paddy McCourt.

The Greenock-born actor met the Irish player at a dinner held ahead of Stiliyan Petrov's charity match today.

Known as the Derry Pele, McCourt, 34, played for Celtic from 2008 to 2013.

Martin shared the moment on social media alongside a throwback image he took the first time he met the player.

The moment delighted Hoops supporters who hold McCourt as an all-time club favourite.

And the actor has expressed his excitement about playing at Celtic Park on Saturday with his "heroes".

He also described how it may be the "greatest day off" he has ever had, as he is also visiting the set of Still Game.

In a separate tweet, the Line of Duty star said: "First week of Line Of Duty 5 done at airport en route to possibly the greatest day off ever.

"Hanging oot way Jack and Victor in the morning on last series of greatest Scottish tv show ever. Paradise in the afternoon for kickabout with my heroes."

A match for Cancer takes place at Celtic Park at 2pm today.

Liverpool star James Milner and former player Petrov have pulled together sides for the match. 

A Match for Cancer will raise valuable funds to tackle the disease, with the proceeds from the day being shared equally with three beneficiary charities - Celtic FC Foundation, The Stiliyan Petrov Foundation and The James Milner Foundation.
