A HEARTBROKEN mother has revealed the devastating moment she realised her pregnant daughter had died at the age of 22.

Jacqueline Sanderson, 49, discovered her daughter Rosanna at her home in Clarkston on Sunday. The curtains were closed in the property and she could not get an answer.

The 49-year-old, who called her daughter's former partner Oliver, 28, to get access to the home, told The Daily Record: “I lifted the cover off her and knew she was gone. Her fingers were blue. I threw myself on top of her and told her I loved her.

“She just looked like she had been sleeping.

“My heart breaks for Oliver having to see that."

We revealed yesterday that Rosanna was just 14 weeks pregnant when she suddenly died.

Her family were preparing for the arrival of her first child in March.

A post-mortem will be carried out today to establish what caused the death of the healthy hairdresser.

Jacqueline said: “Her baby was due on March 8 and we were supposed to go and get the gender scan soon. She had a big balloon for the reveal.

“If it was a girl, she wanted to call her Lilly, and Oscar for a boy.

“I have asked them to tell us after the post-mortem if the baby was a boy or a girl because I want to get the right flowers.

“She was in her prime and said, ‘This baby is going to be the making of me’. She said, ‘This baby is going to make me feel complete’. She would’ve made the best mum ever.”

The tragic mum-to-be was expecting with her former partner of four years Oliver. She previously shared a 12-week scan with friends on Facebook and told of her excitement of becoming a mum.

In the early hours of Sunday, she had woken up and texted her mum and spoken to Oliver on the phone. Tragically, they found her dead just an hour later.

Jacqueline said: “I got a message at 4.30am. She said she had been sleeping. She had spoken to Oliver and was really happy talking to him.

“She wasn’t ill but she had previously complained of pins and needles in her arms and sore legs."

She added: "All she ever wanted was to be a mum. We went for the scan on August 27. She had been really worried before it, saying, ‘Mum, what if we go there and the baby’s not there?’

When the baby came up on the screen, she burst out crying with happiness.

“She wanted a blue or pink teddy after the gender scan with the baby’s heartbeat inside. I so wish I had that now so I could keep it forever.

“The only comfort I have is to know she didn’t go alone and was with her baby.

“My own mum passed away six years ago and I hope she was waiting for her on the other side.”

A Just Giving page has since been set up to raise funds for the funeral and is hoping to raise £10,000.

Jacqueline said: “She would want the biggest send-off ever and I just want to give her what she deserves.

“She didn’t deserve this. She was a good girl. She had the most beautiful, softest, kindest heart and a wicked sense of humour. Her laugh was contagious. My life is never going to be the same again without her.”
