Actor Sanjeev Kohli has said farewell to Navid in an emotional and equally amusing post as Still Game filming comes to an end.

The comedian has played the owner of the Harrids Convenience Store since the TV series began in 2002 and was reprised in 2016.

However, it was announced in July that the actors were to hang up their costumes as the ninth series would be the last.

Sanjeev took to Twitter to reveal that today would be the last time he would wear the Navid costume which he admitted was "mad itchy".

Alongside a picture of his hair and beard, he wrote: "My last day on #StillGame today. EVER. Goodbye Navid. You were mad itchy but it was a pleasure to wear you..."

The tweet has already been flooded with comments from emotional fans thanking the comedian for his years of laughter.

One fan wrote: "Thanks for the laughter you brought to millions over the years #EndOfAnEra"

Another added: "Naw I’m not accepting this."

Another wrote: "A sad to see Still Game come to an end, your character was my favourite of the series Sanjeev."

The Still Game cast have been spotted filming in and around Glasgow in recent weeks and even stopped by a local street food market for a bite to eat with some fans.
