A popular West End restaurant has announced it is to close at the end of the month.

Jacqueline O’Donnell of The Sisters Jordanhill took to social media to break the news to customers.

The chef said it was with a 'heavy heart' that she has decided to hang up her 'pink pinnie'.

Health issues and a number of other factors have led to the decision to close to Jordanhill branch, but the other in Kelvingrove will remain open.

Writing on Facebook, Jak said: "I feel that now is the right time to step away from Sisters Jordanhill and let someone else have their turn in that wonderful spot.

"The Sisters name and brand will still live on at our Kelvingrove restaurant and we'll continue to keep going from strength to strength and striving for Scottish produce and local suppliers there. And don't worry, my core team that have made Sisters Jordanhill what it is today will be coming with me to Kelvingrove.

"Now is the right time for me and the business to concentrate our strengths and amazing team on Kelvingrove.

"At this point, I'd like to thank my incredible team for all their hard work, commitment and loyalty to me and my business over the years.

"They truly are a credit to not just me, but also themselves."

The team are inviting customers and regulars to visit for one last dinner or chat before doors close permanently on September 29.
