RIVERDANCE has been given a Castlemilk makeover - well sort of.

For a group of Irish dancers have gone viral on social media with their outstanding jig to the GBX remix of Gerry Cinnamon's hit Belter.

The moment was uploaded to Twitter by Nicola Mhairi Marmion and has attracted more than 50,000 views.

The group were even endorsed by the Castlemilk singer who gave them a retweet.

Nicola said: "Just world champs dancing to ‘she’s a belter’.

The video features Caroline Greene's School of Irish Dance performers and the caption makes reference to their recent third place spot in the World Championships in Glasgow.

Belter is a track from Cinnamon's debut album and has become an anthem. We recently reported how the song had been given a GBX remix by DJs George Bowie and Mark Anderson.

Clyde One star Bowie previously told The Evening Times: "Me and Mark Anderson – ‘Sparkos’ – did the remix of it to play at gigs for a laugh. I dropped it on the show one night, and people have asked for it ever since” George said. “It has been crazy."

He added: “Belter is a Glasgow anthem and the thing about Gerry Cinnamon is that he is from these parts and he sings about these parts. That is why it goes down so well.

“It is maybe like a grime artist who comes from a certain area of London will be massive down there because you can appreciate what he is singing about.

“Gerry is the Glasgow equivalent of that. People can really relate to him and that is part of Gerry’s magic.”
