STEVEN GERRARD could give a handful of Academy kids a chance to shine at Ibrox against Ayr.
The Light Blues host Ian McCall’s side in the quarter-finals of the Betfred Cup tonight.
And assistant boss Gary McAllister is keen to see the next generation of Gers take to the field.
He said: “We have introduced six youngsters.
“The two McCrories (Ross and Robby) are in, Glenn Middleton, Stephen Kelly, Cammy Palmer and Jack Thompson.
“As much as the starting XI will be strong, there might be an opportunity for these lads to get some minutes.
“These young lads have really impressed for the reserves and in and around training.
“They are deserving of their chance.”
