TRESPASSERS on railway lines have caused disruption for rush-hour commuters between Paisley Gilmour Street and Johnstone.

The route affected is that between Glasgow Central and Largs / Ardrossan Harbour / Ayr.

Trains between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning may be cancelled, delayed or revised as services return to normal.

Disruption was expected to last until 6.30pm.

ScotRail said: “We are working with the emergency services to quickly and safely resolve the situation.

“Ticket acceptance is in place between Milliken Park and Glasgow via Paisley on bus number 38.”

It’s understood the persons were safely off the line as of 4.45pm, with the police and trains starting move again.
