AN English teacher is facing disciplinary action after posting a string of expletive-laden tweets directed at politicians.
John Cawley, who teaches at Whitehill Secondary in Dennistoun, in the city’s East End, is under investigation for “inappropriate tweets", education officials confirmed.

Mr Cawley, who describes himself as a ‘politics nerd’ and teacher on Twitter, directed the posts at politicians including Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and the SNP’s Keith Brown and John Mason.
In one post related to Brexit and directed at Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard, he wrote: “The state of this delusional p*** Mitigate a f****** disaster your pal is complicit in, Mason, Bastani, Milne, Corbyn and McDonnell et all can f*** off.”

In another post he refers to supporters of SNP MSP Keith Brown as “a********”.
Maureen McKenna, head of education at Glasgow City Council, was alerted to the Twitter posts.

One parent said: “To swear so extensively is unacceptable for someone who teaches young people and who is expected to set an example to them.”
A council spokeswoman said: “A complaint has been received about inappropriate tweets that are against the council’s employee code of conduct and an investigation is currently taking place.”
The non-denominational school is part of the Whitehill Campus, along with Golfhill Primary School and Westercraigs Nursery in the city.
