THE BBC has blasted Sir Rod Stewart after he claimed he was banned from signing an Irish ballad on the radio.
As previously reported by the Evening Times, the 73-year-old singer said he was not allowed to sing ‘Grace’- because it was “anti-English.”
Sir Rod made the statement in a recent interview with Billboard, ahead of a live set on The Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Friday.

However, hitting back at his claims, a BBC spokeswoman told the Evening Times: “This story is categorically untrue.
“No songs are banned on the BBC. All songs performed live on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show are agreed with the artist.”
