A FAMILY have made a desperate plea for their beloved 12-week-old puppy to be returned after he was stolen from their Carmunnock home.

The French Bulldog, named Stanley, was taken from the house on Picketlaw Farm Road overnight along with a black Volkswagen Tiguan.

Terrified owner Rachelle Smyth said the family aren't concerned about the car, but want Stanley returned home safely.

In a Facebook post, she said: "Everyone please share!!! Absolutely in pieces this morning, have woken up and during the night someone has broken in to the house and stolen my puppy Stanley.

"If anyone knows anything or sees him please message me.

"They have also taken my mums car, a black Volkswagen Tiguan.

"If anyone sees this car please contact me! Don't care about the car, just want my baby back and hopefully tracing the car may help get him home to his family!"

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 7.50am on October 1, police were called to a report of a black VW Tiguan, and a French bulldog puppy having been stolen from a property on Picketlaw Farm Road, Carmunnock, overnight.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0578.

"Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.”
