POLICE Scotland has releasing an image of a man they believe will be able to assist them in their enquiries into a serious assault in Rutherglen.
At around 2.20pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018, a 33-year-old man was crossing Castlemilk Road, near Kingsbridge Drive, when he was assaulted by another male.
The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.
The male police are looking to speak to is described as being 30 to 40-years-old, 6ft tall, of medium build, was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and jogging bottoms and spoke with a local accent.
Police Constable Alan Smith, Rutherglen Police Office, said: “We are appealing for the man in the image to come forward, or anyone knows of him to get in contact. We believe he may be able to assist us in this enquiry.
“Crimes like this will not be tolerated and officers have been checking CCTV, as well as making door-to-door enquiries, to trace the person responsible.”
