GORDON: Left exposed for Salzburg's leveller and the second of the night. Couldn't keep out Dabbur's penalty which was hit straight down the middle. Will feel disappointed at the lack of protection from those in front of him. Two good saves in the second period as he helped to keep the scoreline down. (6)

LUSTIG: Will feel that he could have been quicker to close down Hannes Wolf as Salzburg grabbed a leveller. Stepped out of defence to give the ball away on a couple of occasions in the second period and a growing feeling that he is out of his depth at this level. (5)

BOYATA: Seemed to be caught sleeping when Salzburg netted their second goal. No-one covering the near post as Takumi Minamino was allowed to recover from a poor first touch to get his shot away at the second attempt. Under siege for most of the night as Salzburg continually came at Celtic. (5)

HENDRY: Retained his spot at the heart of defence due to injuries to Kristoffer Ajer, Jozo Simunovic and Filip Benkovic. Tentative as the ball seemed to get caught under him as Salzburg netted their second although one moment in the second period when he stepped out of defence with the ball at his feet. (5)

TIERNEY: Captain for the night in the absence of the injured Scott Brown. Not a night to remember for the youngster who will be disappointed at the second -half collapse as Salzburg's relentless pressure finally bore fruit. (6)

FORREST: Straight red-card after grappling with Wolf. Deemed to have denied the Salzburg a clear goal-scoring opportunity and was penalised with a spot-kick from which Salzburg netted their third of the night. (6)

MULUMBU: Solid start and impressive in the opening half but booked in the second period just after Salzburg had levelled things. Went off with 13 minutes to go given the fact that he was on a yellow card. (6)

NTCHAM: Difficult night for the midfielder, made all the harder when Celtic went down to ten men. Struggled to stamp his authority on a game that Salzburg controlled. (6)

MCGREGOR: Long ball up to Edouard for opening goal and then into the book for a foul as the game edged towards the break after being left short by Edouard. One effort in the second period that went just over the bar. (6)

EDOUARD: Got Celtic off to an ideal start after just two minutes with a fine goal. Used his physicality to shoulder his way past Andre Ramalho before sliding an effort into the bottom corner. First goal in eight games. (6)

GRIFFITHS: Replaced by Sinclair on the hour mark. Difficult night for the striker with some question marks over his fitness. Struggled to impose himself on the game. (6)

SINCLAIR: On for the final half hour but by then Celtic were drowning under wave after wave over Salzburg attacks. (4)

CHRISTIE: Took over from Mulumbu but by then the game was over. (4)

MORGAN: Came on for the final ten minutes as Edouard made way. (4)
