IT has been welcoming wedding guests since May 17 1906 and now one of Scotland's most luxurious hotels has added a new service for anyone considering popping the question to their partner.
The five star Trump Turnberry golf resort, which is owned by the US president, has pledged to "take the stress out" of wedding proposals with a dedicated planning service, which is available to guests and visitors.
Events manager Calum Dewar has been appointed the role, apparently following steady demand from couples requesting an extra personalised moment.
The Great Gatsby-esque resort benefitted from a multi-million pound make-over in 2016 after being bought over by the Trump family, enhancing the Art Deco features and adding a showpiece ballroom lined by chandeliers and named after the current owner
Mr Dewar said: "Having worked at the hotel for a number of years, I have witnessed and helped hundreds of couples pop the question at the resort.
"We are fortunate to be surrounded by so many picture perfect backdrops, wether it's the historic lighthouse suite with views across the ocean or the scenic backdrop of Ailsa Craig.
"Nerves can sometimes kick in when trying to create a moment which will stay with you for the rest of your married life, which is why Trump Turnberry has introduced the bespoke and completely personalised service."
Couples booking wedding packages at the resort, which is home to three world-famous golf courses, can enjoy a complimentary honeymoon stay in the historic Lighthouse, which has links to King Robert the Bruce and has been transformed into a luxurious penthouse overlooking the ocean.
Turnberry was orginally a station hotel and also served as a make-shift hospital during the second world war.
Notable guests have included President Eisenhower and "most of" the Royal family.
Wedding packages start at £60 per guests. To book a consultation call 01655 334 115 or email weddings@trumpturnberry.com
