AN exhibition of work by Glasgow women affected by the Race Relations Act is to be displayed in the city before heading to the UK Parliament next year.

First Waves, a collaboration between EKTA Women’s Group in the west end and Westminster’s artist-in-residence Scarlett Crawford, comprises photos and digital audio works created at workshops in Glasgow Women’s Library earlier this year.

The museum, founded by former Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year Adele Patrick, was one of just six organisations across the UK chosen for the project.

Scarlett said: “The women shared heartfelt, empowering and moving stories about their experiences in Glasgow, before and after the legislation was introduced.”

It runs until November 30 at GWL.
