A FUNDRAISING family will be allowed to sell merchandise on behalf of an armed forces charity in Glasgow.
Ian, Alan and Angela Adie have been given permission to raise cash for Poppy Scotland by selling items on Argyle Street, Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street.
Licensing bosses agreed to allow the trio to operate in the city for the seventh year running.
Speaking at the meeting of the licensing committee yesterday, Ian said: “We are the official licence holders for poppy Scotland merchandising throughout the country.
“For the last six years we’ve had mobile merchandising trailers within the city and they’ve proved an important part of the Poppy Scotland fundraising exercise."
Members of the licensing committee handed their support to the family.
Committee chairman Alex Wilson said: “It’s a worthwhile job you’re doing out there for Poppy Scotland.”
And Gary Gray added: “Each year the uptake for the trailer merchandise has been incredible.”
