Buildings in Finnieston are due to be demolished after being ransacked by intruders.

The derelict buildings on Greenhill Place and Finnieston Street have been deemed unsafe by owners.

A number of break-ins have disrupted asbestos within the building leaving it too dangerous to enter.

The buildings are known to contain asbestos, according to developers.

Vandalism and theft of materials has exposed the site to the elements which has accelerated the deterioration.

Debris netting has been fitted to the existing structure to reduce the risk of falling masonry causing injury to the public.

Skypark Unit Trust are looking to flatten the buildings as soon as possible as they are 'proving to be an impediment to attracting inward investors'.

Redevelopment of the site will be market driven and in line with the existing Skypark Campus, which comprises of six office buildings and three development sites.

Glasgow City Council decided that their approval to demolish to buildings was not required.
