THIS is the moment a lucky student from Glasgow managed to capture a stunning picture of a stag standing under a perfect rainbow.

Clemens Weiss, 22, was out with his university's photography club when the stumbled across a majestic stag standing in a field.

The group were visiting Glen Etive, Scottish Highlands, when they saw the huge stag approach their nine-seater minibus.

Clemens, an international business exchange student at the University of Strathclyde, said he had to stop the van and capture the "perfect moment".

He said: "At uni, we run a photography club and this time we were travelling to the mountains.

"The weather wasn't great and it was raining, but when we were coming back from Glencoe we decided to go past Glen Etive.

"I literally couldn't believe what I saw. I had to stop the van and take a picture of the deer - it kept looking at us.

"It was so weird because it kept getting closer to the minibus, so when we saw the sun shining and the rainbow appearing, I just knew it was the perfect moment to capture."

Clemens had been taking photography seriously since he was a teenager.

He added: "My dad had an old camera so I used to take pictures with that when I was younger but as I got older it started to become more of a passion.

"I enjoy doing landscape photography."
