A FINAL call has been issued to artists to apply for a fortnight-long residency at an Ayrshire estate with royal links.
Dumfries House near Cumnock, saved for the nation by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007, is to welcome artists living or working in Scotland as part of a two-week residency from January to May next year.
Dumfries House curator Janet Casey has urged those interested to apply before Sunday, October 21 at 5pm.
She said: "The residency is intended to be a productive and creative period for the artist to be able to work in a peaceful environment, whilst enjoying Dumfries House, its grounds and the surrounding countryside.
"This is a unique opportunity for painters, textile and furniture designers, illustrators, practice-based researchers and applied artists who use drawing in their practice.
"The emphasis is on working from observation and the development of new work."
The funded residency provides each artist with a private studio, shared self-catering accommodation and daily lunch.
