A FILM based on the work of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy has premiered at the London film festival.
Laurel, who moved to Rutherglen as a young boy, is brought to life by actor and comedian Steve Coogan in the afternoon movie.
A commemorative plaque dedicated to the iconic figure is mounted on a tenement block at 17 Craigmillar Road in Glasgow’s South Side where he spent part of his formative years.
However, the funnyman spent much of his youth living on Buchanan Drive and Stonelaw Road in Rutherglen.
John C Reilly plays Oliver Hardy in the film, Stan & Ollie, which will be opened to the UK public in January.
