KELVINGROVE Art Gallery and Museum has been shut to the public as its workers hold strike action outside.
The popular visitor attraction needs 16 staff to operate.
Disappointed tourists could be seen attempting to enter the building as the strike took effect on Tuesday.
Similar disruption is being experienced at the Mitchell Library, which remains open despite some of the upper floors being closed.
A notice has been placed outside the landmark asking visitors to take any rubbish away with them and use the vending machine as the cafe is closed.
Passers by were cheering and beeping their horns in support of the strikers.
One generous supporter stopped to give two Mitchell Library cleaning staff free lunches.
The industrial action on Tuesday and Wednesday, which involves more than 8,000 members of the GMB and Unison unions, comes in a dispute over equal pay at Glasgow City Council.
Thousands of female workers are proceeding with claims against the council following a Court of Session ruling last year.
The council said the strike was unnecessary and it hopes to reach a settlement in the coming months and start paying out in the next financial year.
