A CHILD and a woman were rushed to hospital after a bus narrowly avoided hitting a house in North Glasgow.

As reported by the Evening Times on Monday, the incident in Springburn’s Syriam Street involved a First Bus and a car.

An eyewitness at the scene told the Evening Times: “The street’s been closed off as a bus and two other vehicles have been involved in a crash. The bus narrowly missed a house.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that a child and a woman were taken to hospital.

A spokesman said: “We received a call at 10.20am on Monday to attend an incident on Syrium Street in Springburn.

“We dispatched one ambulance and our special operations team to the scene.

“We transported one child and one female to hospital.”

The child was being treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children while the woman was taken to the Princess Royal.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 10.20am, police were called to a report of a road crash involving a bus and a car in Syriam Street, Springburn.

“The bus appears to have collided with a fence after the crash. Emergency services were in attendance.”
