UP to 20 vehicles have reportedly been involved in a horror car smash on the M8 close to the Erskine Bridge this morning.
The Evening Times previously reported how the M8 eastbound, from junction 31 to 30, at the bridge, was closed off at around 8am.
Police Scotland said the force was called out to the bridge at 7.55am.

A spokeswoman said: “We received a report that five cars had been involved in a road traffic collision.

“Following on from that, another 15 vehicles hit into each other.
“Officers attended and they are still at the scene along the emergency services as the vehicles are recovered.

There has been no report of any serious injuries.”

Traffic Scotland confirmed at 10.40am that the carriageway had opened and that “traffic should start to ease in the area.”
According to Inverclyde Road Watch, the incident happened because of “low sun and bad fog making it impossible to see.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
