COPS investigating the death of Mohammed Abu Sammour have arrested and charged a man in connection with an alleged theft of a vehicle.
The force confirmed on Friday that the 21-year-old is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
A spokeswoman added that a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
We previously reported that Mr Sammour, 49, was found lying seriously injured in Panmuir Crescent, Newarthill on Sunday, October 28 at 1am.
The site security supervisor was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he died a short time later.
Police launched a murder investigation following a post mortem examination and they continue to hunt for the Airdrie man’s killer.
