THE body of a man has been discovered in Drumchapel, sparking a huge emergency service response.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, a large area of waste ground was cordoned off close to two schools.

Glasgow Times: The cordon was put into place from Ledmore Drive, around Kinfauns Drive, past St Clare’s Primary School and up to Drumchapel High.

Up to nine Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles descended on Kinfauns Drive early this morning after the alarm was raised shortly before 8am.

Forensic officers also arrived at the area and erected a small tent.

The force has now confirmed the body of a man was found after officers were called to a footpath at around 7.45am.

Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

Glasgow Times: Officers are currently treating the death as “unexplained.”

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 7.48am today to attend an incident on Kilcloy Avenue in Drumchapel.

“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene.”
