GLASGOW Caledonian University had been evacuated.

Up to five fire engines have been seen on the campus as hundreds of students made their way out of the building on Cowcaddens Road.

The Evening Times has contacted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) for more details.

An SRFR pokesman said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 1.17pm on Tuesday, November 6 to an automatic fire alarm at a building within a university campus at Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow.

“Operations control immediately mobilised a number of fire engines to the scene.

“Firefighters are currently investigating using a thermal imaging camera.”
