TRIBUTES have been paid to a man as police investigate a suspicious death in Pollokshaws.

As first reported by the Evening Times, the 30-year-old died after being found seriously injured late last night.

The alarm was raised just before 11.30pm as police dashed to Greenview Street.

Tributes to Owen Hassan have been paid online by shocked friends and loved ones.

One said: “I was just speaking to you yesterday and now got woke up to the worst news. Owen, you were one in a million. Talked mostly everyday and had the best times with you. Can’t believe you’re gone. RIP.”

Another read: “Just seen the sad news. Another taken too soon. RIP, Owen. Can’t believe it, man. Rest easy, brother.”

“This world is cruel. Another great person taken from our streets. RIP, Owen,” was another.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Evening Times: “At around 11.20pm on Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was found seriously injured on Greenview Street, near Shawlands.

“He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later.

“A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death which is currently being treated as suspicious.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
