The first of Glasgow's two popular Christmas markets opened this weekend.

Every November St Enoch Square transforms into a festive fantasy of holiday music, stalls and good cheer.

This year is no different and the market is here and offering up food, drink gifts and toys right up until December 23.

Glasgow Times:

The usual sweet suspects can be purchased at several spots throughout the market with a Dutch pancake stall, crepe station, churro stand and waffles.

To add to the sugar overload there is also merchants selling fudge, pick and mix and Turkish delight.

Food fanatics can also enjoy a mixture of cuisines at the market including a French stall offering up garlic king prawns and roquefort mussels.

Glasgow Times:

Indian, Chinese, Greek and Mexican food treats can all be enjoyed this year as well as the favourite paella stand, burger bar and German sausages.

Glasgow Times:

There is no shortage of gift ideas at the market either with many vendors selling alcohol such as Makar and Loch Fynne gin as well as toys, clothing, personalised presents and jewellery

This year's market also has a Harry Potter stand selling scarves, bags and magic merchandise.

Glasgow Times:

And if the shopping gets too much there are two bigger and better bars selling mulled wine and cider to heat away the winter chill.
