ANIMAL charity the Scottish SPCA is celebrating their annual Staffie Awareness Week to encourage the public to come along to meet the staffies currently in their care that are looking for homes.
They are inviting locals from Glasgow along to their centre in Cardonald to meet some super staffies and see how affectionate and lovable they are.
Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre Manager Anna O’Donnell said, “We’re always looking to do more to raise awareness of the breed, which is often mischaracterised.
“Staffies are one of our most popular dogs and it’s clear to see why, they are friendly, loyal and affectionate dogs. They are real people dogs and thrive on human companionship.
“Staffie Awareness Week gives us the chance to show off just how amazing they are as pets.”
Tila is currently Glasgow’s longest staffie resident. She arrived just over 150 days ago through no fault of her own.
Anna went on to say, “Tila came to our centre due to a change in her previous owner’s circumstances. She’s very affectionate and full of beans, despite being an older dog.
“As much as we love her, we’re desperate to find her the loving family she deserves.
Those interested in giving a staffie a new home can visit the Scottish SPCA website at scottishspca.org or call their local centre on 03000 999 999.
