THREE men have been arrested after armed officers swooped into a property in a block of flats in Maryhill.
The force's specialist officers carried out a military style operation as they responded to a report that a firearm had been allegedly seen at the Glenavon Road flats at around 8.30am on Monday morning.
A search was carried out within a property in the block of flats.
During the police search, residents were not allowed to access their homes for over an hour with Police Scotland officers stationed at the entrances and exits to the building.
One resident told the Evening Times: "The armed cops were in the flat for over an hour. We were not allowed back in until they left."
An eyewitness also said the Dog Unit was searching the area.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that no firearm had been discharged.
She said: "At around 8.30am on Monday, November 12, police received a report of a firearm allegedly being seen in Glenavon Road, Maryhill.
"Enquiries are ongoing. No firearm has been discharged."
